As the Managing Partner of Coutts, Adriana has played a pivotal role in the firm’s growth and diversification. With over 20 years of experience in commercial property matters, her expertise has been invaluable in guiding the firm’s development. When Adriana’s joined Coutts, Coutts had a single office and initially focused on Property Law & Conveyancing services. However, she recognised the increasing demand from clients for diverse legal services and expanded the areas of law the firm offered. Thanks to her efforts and dedication, Coutts now has 8 locations and provides a comprehensive range of legal services, including Family Law, Criminal Law, Wills & Estates, Injury Compensation, Employment Law, Property Law & Conveyancing and Commercial Law & Litigation.
In the property sector, Adriana has worked with corporate, public, and private companies, property developers, and residential and commercial builders. Her expertise includes conveyancing, lease agreements, licenses, easements, caveats, subdivisions, off-the-plan sales and purchases, acquisition structures, property disputes, and compulsory acquisitions involving local and state governments. She has also drafted and negotiated large property transactions, including Put and Call Options, delayed acquisitions, and nominations.
Adriana’s commercial law experience spans two decades, during which she has acted for large financial institutions, ADIs, and businesses of all sizes. She advises on business structure, trust establishment, company incorporation, shareholder and partnership agreements, as well as a sole trader and family business matters. Her legal expertise extends to terms of trade, employment agreements, liability, risk management, consumer warranties, and supplier contract negotiations.
Adriana represents large commercial financial institutions, focusing on corporate governance and the provision of retail and wholesale credit and funding facilities for both the commercial and consumer markets. Additionally, Adriana works with franchisors, franchisees, small property developers, and builders, handling commercial property leases and debt recovery. She has experience in insolvency, commercial disputes and litigation, and occupational matters. Her extensive background in commercial property matters allows her to offer valuable counsel to a wide range of clients.
As previous in-house counsel for Wizard Home Loans, Adriana provided legal support and drafted agreements for the company’s branch structures across Australia and New Zealand. She has also gained substantial experience working with franchisees in Australia. Adriana’s involvement in advisory boards and committees for compulsory land acquisitions and planning demonstrates her commitment to local communities and the general public.
