Professional Biography of Melissa
Melissa Care is a Partner and Head of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution team at Coutts Lawyers & Conveyancers, where she is known as the lawyer builders and trades across Macarthur rely on to protect, defend, and strengthen their businesses. With over 15 years of experience, Melissa represents builders, construction companies, and tradespeople in matters spanning commercial disputes, building and construction litigation, debt recovery, risk management, and business advisory retainers.
Melissa joined Coutts in 2022 as a Senior Associate, was appointed Head of Litigation in 2023, and achieved Partnership in 2025 — all before the age of 40, while raising three children. Her rapid progression reflects not only her legal expertise but her reputation as a strategic problem-solver and trusted advisor to the building and business community.
Pragmatic and results-driven, Melissa helps clients resolve disputes efficiently and protect their commercial interests before issues escalate. Her work extends across civil and commercial litigation, including complex construction disputes, contract breaches, and employment-related claims.
