Building Site Hours Extended!

Building Site Hours Extended! - Property Lawyers Parramatta

With the building and construction industry making up nearly 10% of NSW’s economy, the Environmental Planning and Assessment (COVID-19 Development – Construction Work Days) Order 2020 has been put in place on 24th March 2020 until the Covid19 pandemic is over.

KEY TAKE OUTS:

  • Are you in the construction industry and worried about how Covid19 affects you?  Read on!

Construction sites have had their work hours extended by allowing work on construction sites to occur on weekends and public holidays.  This will allow the industry to “facilitate social distancing on construction sites, while minimising the potential for lost productivity during the pandemic”.

Of course, there are some limitations to the Order, including no rock hammering and taking all necessary steps to minimise noise, etc which you can read here.
