Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) (subclass 601)

This is for short-term visits to Australia for tourism or business. It allows you enter as many times as you like within a 12 month period and stay up to 3 months at a time.

You can enter as:

  • a tourist – for example, to cruise or have a holiday

  • to visit family or friends

  • as a business visitor

eVisitors (subclass 651)

An electronically stored authority for visits to Australia for tourism or business purposes for up to 3 months and is available to passport holders from the European Union and a number of other European countries. You must apply from outside of Australia.

With this visa you can:

  • visit family or friends

  • cruise or have a holiday

  • undertake business visitor activities

  • study or train for up to 3 months, in some circumstances

Visitor Visa (subclass 600)

A temporary visa allowing a stay in Australia of up to 3 or 6 or 12 months.

Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417)

This is a temporary visa for young people who want to holiday and work in Australia for up to a year. It is a temporary visa that encourages cultural exchange and closer ties between Australia and eligible countries.

Work and Holiday visa Temporary (subclass 462)

This temporary visa is specifically for young people who want to holiday and work in Australia for up to a year.
