Conveyancer-in-charge: Melina Maiolo
Melina’s client was winding up a company. As part of that process, they were transferring properties held by that entity to another. The client’s accountant made a successful application to Revenue NSW to have the transfers deemed exempt from duty. Melina was then able to prepare the Transfers and other necessary documentation and submit a formal request for assessment to Revenue NSW together with the required supporting evidence provided by the accountant.
The request was approved and processed. Melina’s part was completed successfully before the client’s bank was even ready to discharge the current loan and register the new one with the other entity as borrower. After several years of managing the wind-up, the client was very grateful that this part of the transaction was completed so efficiently and timely.
