The Law Society of New South Wales is an organisation that seeks to provide leadership in the legal profession, serve its more than 27,000 members and ensure a just legal system. Voting in the Law Society Council Election opens at the end of the business day on Tuesday 27th September 2016.
In 2016, Coutts Lawyers & Conveyancers principal solicitor Adriana Care is running as a Country Member candidate alongside Your Law Society Team 2016 candidates Jacqueline Dawson Suburban Member candidate, Mary Macken Corporate Member candidate and Phillip Roberts City Member candidate.
Adriana was admitted as a solicitor in 2001 and in 2007 became the principal solicitor of Coutts Lawyers & Conveyancers. Prior to that she had worked at Clayton Utz, Ernst & Young Law and Dibbs Barker Gosling in Sydney.
She became the first female President of the Greater Narellan Chamber of Commerce. She was the 2015 winner of the Regional New South Wales Business Community award for excellence in small business. In 2016 she received the Local Government Business Woman of the Year award. Adriana is a member of Women on Boards, the Women Lawyers Association and Women in Finance.
Adriana helped organise the Ingham Research Institute’s Womens’ International Day luncheon. The Institute performs medical research into cancer and various community health issues.
Adriana is committed to the advancement of women in the legal profession and would like to see the Law Society provide greater resources to the development of business skills for women managing law practices.
