In a complex family law matter involving a long-term relationship of over 40 years and a property pool exceeding $10 million, our Family Law team was engaged to guide the division of assets with precision, empathy, and fairness.

Our client, the primary income earner throughout the relationship, approached us with an initial broad agreement in mind. However, given the high-value and diverse nature of the asset pool, our team’s role became instrumental in ensuring each asset, ranging from real estate holdings to investments and superannuation, was accurately valued and considered.

With decades of financial contribution from our client and equally important non-financial contributions from the other party as the family’s homemaker and caretaker, our strategy centered around securing a settlement that reflected both the tangible and intangible efforts poured into the relationship.

Through meticulous preparation and strategic negotiation, we achieved an outcome that awarded our client 51% of the total asset pool, a result they felt was both fair and empowering. The matter was finalised efficiently, respectfully, and without the need for drawn-out litigation.
