Professional Biography of Johanna
Johanna Gleeson joined the Coutts Lawyers & Conveyancers team in 2025 as Special Counsel for Wills & Estates, Property and Commercial Property Law.
Johanna began her professional journey with over 14 years in private practice as a Solicitor, gaining extensive experience across a broad range of legal matters in the commercial, property, and corporate spheres. Johanna subsequently transitioned into roles spanning accountancy, financial planning, and insolvency, before looking for her next challenge.
Johanna’s multidisciplinary background then led to various in-house legal roles, including serving as Legal Counsel at Wingecarribee Shire Council and as Property Project Manager at Wollondilly Shire Council, where she managed complex property and infrastructure projects within the local government framework.
Further expanding her experience and interests, Johanna spent three years as Internal Legal Counsel, Property and Project Manager for a large not-for-profit organisation in northwest NSW. In this capacity, she was responsible for navigating the legal and operational intricacies of the Federal Government’s Employment Services programs, combining legal, compliance, and project management expertise to support community-focused outcomes.
Johanna takes a consultative approach when working with clients, aiming to achieve the best outcome for all stakeholders through collaboration, insight, and tailored solutions.
Outside of work, Johanna enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis, gardening, and travel, as well as being an avid reader and bushwalker.
