Client’s charge of common assault withdraw following successful representations

Our client was charged with a string of offences following a night out in the Local Area. Of the string of charges, he was charged with assaulting a security guard, however, he and all of the witnesses that were with him, were adamant that he did not assault the security guard as stated in the police facts sheet. Luisa obtained the police brief of evidence, and after review of the evidence and the CCTV footage as well as police body-worn footage, there was no evidence of our client having assaulted the security guard. Luisa wrote representations to police seeking the charge of common assault be withdrawn given there was not sufficient evidence to prosecute our client. The representations were successful, and the charge of Common Assault was successfully withdrawn.
