Professional Biography of Claire
Claire joined the Coutts team in September 2022 working as a Senior Associate in our Wills & Estate team, based in our Wollongong office.
Claire holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree in Spanish and Media from Leeds University, England, a Post Graduate Diploma in Law and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, both from the College of Law, Chester, England.
Claire started working as a clerk in a law firm in England in 2001 and then moved to Australia in 2002. She worked as an article clerk and was later admitted to practice in Victoria in 2003. She then moved to Wollongong in 2005 and was admitted to practice in NSW.
She worked in the areas of Family Law and Wills and Estates and now dedicates herself solely to the area of Wills and Estates. She enjoys working with clients through what can often be a difficult time in their lives, either at the estate planning stage, following the loss of a loved one and when they have not been left adequate provision in a Will (or alternatively, representing an executor faced with a challenge to the Will).
Claire’s biggest strength in the workplace is her communication, both internally with colleagues and externally with clients, to work together with the ultimate goal of achieving the desired outcome. She prides herself on tailoring the client experience to their individual needs.
Outside of the office, Claire enjoys attending a weekly Spanish conversation class. She also enjoys swimming and spending time with her family.
